The dream of Ed and Karen Rathbone to have a unique family resort became a reality some 23 years ago and soon grew from strength to strength.

Areena Resort is a Holiday Resort offering a large variety of facilities for both family and business market. We have accommodation in Self Catering Cottages, Timber chalets, En-suits and Rondavels and we also have Camping and Caravan sites. We have a Conference Facility and Wedding Facility with Restaurant and Licensed Pub. We have an Adventure Village with various activities. All located on a Game Reserve.

We cater and serve accommodation for corporate functions, church, sports and school groups in relax country setting. Our conference facility is for corporate groups, church groups, sports groups and school groups. We have a Fun Team Building Activities designed to assist corporate groups. Our Adventure Village has fun activities for Public and for entertainment. We have Abseiling, Quad Biking, Paintball, Archery, Pellet Gun Shooting and a River Cruise and much more.

• TRAVEL FOR +- 10 MINUTES [LANDMARK - PASS CROSSWAYS SPAR AND SHOPPING COMPLEX , EAST COAST MEATS ON YOUR RIGHT, HALF WAY TO AREENA, CONTINUE ON]
• GET TO THE “JIKELEZA”“GLENGARRIF” SIGN BOARD, TURN RIGHT (T 5) AND IMMEDIATELY RIGHT AGAIN, (HAIRPIN BEND TURN INTO THE ENTRANCE -CROSSING THE STOP STREET )
• OUR ENTRANCE IS AT THE CORNER OF THE PROPERTY ON THE RIGHT HAND SIDE OF THE SIGNBOARD.
• BRICK AND TILE ENTRANCE SET SLIGHTLY BACK FROM GLENGARRIFF TURNOFF CORNER
• PROCEED DOWN HILL , KEEP TO RIGHT AT BOTTOM OF HILL THROUGH BRICK ENTRANCE WALL
• APROACH CLOSELY AUTOMATIC OPENING GATE .ENTER.
• PROCEED DOWN ROAD TO BOOM
• PARK ON SIDE OF BOOM OUT OF THE WAY.
• IF YOU ARRIVE AFTER 5PM, RING BUZZER ON THE OFFICE DOOR IN ORDER TO BOOK IN, MAKE PAYMENT ETC.
