About Red Stone Hills Holiday Farm Calitzdorp

Our eight renovated cottages, circa 1880, nestle in a valley of vineyards surrounded by a range of colourful red stone hills, called Enon-conglomerate, displaying their own natural windows.
 
These red/orange sandstones and mudstones were laid down 60 million years ago as sediments beneath water and then tilted by powerful pressures.

The cottages are 120m apart(except the Vineyard & Hanepoot Cottages are 15m apart) .

All six cottages have spectacular views of the river, the red stone hills and the vineyards.

Accommodation varies from authentic to luxury cottages

Guests are assured of total privacy and tranquil surroundings.

Bedding and towels are supplied.

Wood is availible for barbecue/fireplace.

Aloe Gardens (4 star)

Bird's Nest (3 star)

2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom with shower and bath, portable air-con, fireplace (old wooden hearth), Satellite television and fully equipped kitchen.

Ostrich Palace (3 star)

2 bedrooms (1 double bed and 1 with twin beds) and 2 en-suite bathrooms with showers and baths, portable air-con, fireplace (old wooden hearth) in dining room, fireplace in lounge, Satellite television and fully equipped kitchen.

Vineyard Cottage (4 star)

2 bedrooms (1 double bed and 1 with twin beds) and 2 bathrooms with shower and bath, portable air-con, Satellite television, separate fireplace in lounge, indoor barbecue (old wooden hearth) and fully equipped kitchen.

Hanepoot Cottage (3 star)

2 bedrooms (both with twin beds) and 1 bathroom with shower and bath, portable air-con and fully equipped kitchen, 30m from Vineyard Cottage.

Red Rock Cottage (4 star)

2 bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms (Spa baths and Shower), Satellite television, fire place in lounge, open hearth in dining room and fully equipped kitchen.

Bushman Cottage

3 bedrooms (2 with twin beds, 1 with double bed) and 2 bathrooms, one with shower and one with bath, portable air-con, separate fireplace in lounge, indoor barbecue (old wooden hearth), Satellite television and fully equipped kitchen.

Enon Cottage

2 bedrooms (1 with twin beds, 1 with double bed) and 1 bathroom, with shower only (leads from bedroom with twin beds), indoor barbecue (old wooden hearth), television and fully equipped kitchen. This cottage is situated next to conference centre.

From the R62 between Oudtshoorn and Calitzdorp take the Kruisrivier turn-off (28 km from Oudtshoorn and 14 km from Calitzdorp).  Our farm is situated 6km down this gravel road.
