And all this is on your doorstep at Umngazi, an award winning family resort & spa. The thatch-roofed bungalows are situated amongst the indigenous gardens which provide the perfect setting for a totally relaxed holiday. Weekly fly-in packages are available Friday to Friday from Durban where you fly at 500 feet above sea level along the beautiful coastline – a wonderful way to start your holiday. Bungalows: 68 bungalows (some interleading) which have been categorized into five different categories namely : Garden, River, Sea, Emlonyeni (River Mouth), Honeymoon Cottages & our exclusive spa suites namely, Ntabeni (meaning on the hillside). Our comfortable bungalows are tastefully decorated, child friendly (except honeymoon, Emlonyeni & Ntabeni suites) & offer tea/coffee facilities. Cost: Rates are fully inclusive of 3 meals per day & mid morning/afternoon tea & coffee. Rates vary (R1450 – R2700 per person per night including 3 meals per day) and dependent on season & bungalow type. Certain activities and babysitting are extra cost. Directions to Umngazi River Bungalows & Spa Port St Johns Umngazi is located in the heart of Pondoland; twenty kilometers south of Port St Johns. SA Airlink offers direct daily flights from OR Tambo into Mthatha which is 90 kilometers from Umngazi. Transfers can be arranged. Alternatively drive from Johannesburg past Kokstad & turn into the R61 (Port St Johns route). If you driving from the Western Cape, get yourselves onto the N2 North & follow Port St Johns direction from Mthatha. From Durban, follow the R61 route past the Wild Coast Sun/Bizana/Flagstaff/Lusikisiki. Google Map Use the Google Map below to get directions from any point of departure.
