Wine on the Rocks9th May 2015 @ 12h00 - 17h00 Wine on the Rocks Under this somewhat surprising motto a very special event is planned for Graaff-Reinet. On May 9, 2015 the art of wine making will meet the science of Karoo protection: a number of wine farms will display their latest products along Mountain Drive in Graaff-Reinet, while the public will be treated to short introductions into the intriguing and fascinating geology along the trail. We are sure after a few glasses of Cabernet-Sauvignon visitors will have a much better understanding of groundwater flows in the Karoo – and why fracking is not such a good idea. Mark the date in your diaries! I hope that this will intrigue you all to spend the afternoon enjoying wines and learning about our beautiful heritage and why we need to protect it. Hestie of Polka and Inge of Cold Stream will be selling food in between the 3 wine estates. We are still finalising who will be here, so far Yvonne and Peter of Peter Baylys wines will be joining us.
