Rhodene is a working fruit farm and offers luxury self-catering accommodation which overlooks the fertile Ceres valley and is situated at the foot of the majestic Skurweberg mountain range. The farm is 9km from Ceres and easily accessible as it is only 500m off a tarred road. There are breath-taking views from Rhodene of the entire valley and you are guaranteed to go home rejuvenated and relaxed.

We have nine cottages and a recently refurbished modern farm house. All are fully furnished.
Each cottage is fitted with built-in cupboards and counters, a TV, select DSTV bouquet channels, a fridge, stove, microwave, kettle, toaster, cutlery, crockery and all utensils. Each cottage & the farm house have under-floor heating and /or a fireplace for our cold winters and fans for the summer (the farm house also has air conditioning and roof fans).

Each unit has an outside stoep and braai facilities. Bedding, towels and weekly cleaning is also included. The configuration is different in the cottages.

Peacock’s Perch (sleep maxium 6 persons) has two bedrooms. The main bedroom has 1 double bed. The second room has two sets of bunk-beds (4 single beds). There is one bathroom with a shower, small bath, basin and toilet. The living room is open planned combining the lounge and dining table. The kitchen is separate.

Guinea Fowl Cottage (sleep maximum 2 adults & 2 children) has one bedroom (double antique brass bed), a separate bathroom with bath, shower, & basin. There is a separate toilet & basin. The kitchen & lounge are open-planned and has pull-out couches in the lounge for 2 persons (children).

Heron House (sleep maximum 2 adults & 2 children) is very similar to Guinea Fowl cottage, the only difference being that it doesn’t have a bath. It is also wheelchair accessible with a spacious roll-in shower.

Cottages on our Voëlvlei Farm:

The 4 Voëlvlei Cottages (sleep maximum 2 -3 persons each) are semi-attached, each with one bedroom (2 single beds) and a pull-out couch in the lounge (except one unit). The bathroom has a bath with a shower inside, toilet and basin. The living area is also open planned with the lounge and kitchen. Each unit has shaded parking.

Our 2 bigger cottages, Fish Eagle and Kingfisher, (sleep maximum 4 persons) are both spacious and have been recently renovated. Each cottage has two bedrooms: main bedroom with a king-size bed and the second bedroom with two single beds. It has two bathrooms: one (en-suite to main bedroom) with bath, shower, toilet and basin and a separate bathroom with shower, toilet and basin. The living area is open-planned with spacious lounge and kitchen. Each unit has shaded parking.

The Voëlvlei House
Is a separate standing modern farm house with a private fenced-off garden, salt-water pool, and is close to the foot of the mountain.  It has 4 bedrooms:  2 double beds and 5 single beds, and has 3 bathrooms. It has a modern & spacious kitchen with scullery, vine-covered stoep and a spacious lounge and dining area with fireplace.  The house can sleep a maximum of 8 to 9 persons.

Enter Ceres and follow the main road (Voortrekker Street). 
At the second traffic light turn left into Vos Street , direction Prince Alfred’s Hamlet (R303).
Travel along the road (R303 to Prince Alfred’s Hamlet) for 6.6 km’s. 
Turn left at the sign “Cascade Divisional Road”.  
Follow the tarred road for 2,3 km’s.
Turn left at the brown tourism sign “Rhodene Farm Cottages”. 
Follow the dirt road to the main gate of Rhodene.
If the gate is closed please call the office/ house telephone number or the cell phone number on the gate.

From Touws River (N1/ R46):
Enter Ceres and follow the main road (Voortrekker Street).
At the first traffic light turn right into Vos Street , direction Prince Alfred’s Hamlet (R303).
Travel along this road (R303 to Prince Alfred’s Hamlet) for 6.6 km’s. 
Turn left at the sign “Cascade Divisional Road”.

Rates at Rhodene Farm Cottages Prince Alfred Hamlet

Cottages:
Single Rate: R300 - R400 per night
Sharing Rate Per Cottage: R400 - R1 100 per night, depending on the number of persons p/unit.

The Voëlvlei House:
R2 000 p/night for 4 - 8 persons.  The additional rate for the 9th person/ child is R150 p/night.
Minimum stay of 2 nights required.
